  Miguel Bombarda Hospital in Lisbon used to be a male psychiatry hospital but permanently closed many years ago. Nowadays it's almost and abandoned place where only a few events take place (saw a photography exhibition once, for example) and host a very curious museum about mental diseases. However, the museum is only visitable by appointment. Within the premises there's also an amazing building called the "panopticon" which used to be the ward where mentally hill criminals were kept. Unfortunately, this building is also closed but opens maybe once or twice a year so if you happen to catch one of these rare occasions don't miss it.
