Vale a pena visitar!

I didn't know about this museum until I saw it on a list of low-cost things to do in Lisboa. Signal boost!! This museum is amazing, moving, educational, startling. It is housed in an actual former political prison! Warning- there are some really intense and graphic descriptions of torture (no images of torture) so take care of little ones and people with trauma related to violence. Normal admission is 3 euros, but it's free for students. Lockers are available for no charge. A few things are not translated to English and there are some errors in translation but nothing major. Great for a rainy day. Closed Monday.

Incredibly interesting museum on the time of the dictatorship and fascism in Portugal. Definitely done from the anti-Salazar viewpoint. Very understandable view point. Intrigued me to read up on the history of Salazar. Very well done exhibit. Plenty of exhibits in English. Got there an hour before closing so we had to rush, but definitely worth the somewhat steep admission price.
