  This place is run by gangster scam artists who make more money out of hidden costs than through drinks, then rough you up when you refuse to pay. Enter at your own peril!

  I walked into MAIN because I had talked to the front desk at the hostel and recognized the name when I was walking by. I was handed a card at the door and told it was used to pay for drinks. I walked upstairs and the environment made me uncomfortable, l so I turned around and tried to leave. The guy at the door stopped me and asked me if I had paid, and I said that I hadn't made any purchases. They said I owed a 15 euro cover, which I should have known because there is a small 15 printed in black font on the bottom right of the card, impossible to see in the poorly lit club. I said that no one had told me about a cover charge, and that I wasn't going to pay an unfair charge. Three bouncers grabbed me and roughed me up, and said I had to give them 15 euros to leave. They swore at me in Portuguese and slammed me against a wall. I'm considering filing assault charges.

  Great music, not too crowded when I was there, but some people that looked too young to be in a club.

  Good music, but the population can vary a lot from one night to the other. Also the vip is quite expensive. And un practical. You can't keep the bottle that you buy.
